Hi I just bought this mobo and some samsung lifetime warranty, certified pc2700 ram. Then I read a few reviews from bonesreview.com and found alot of mobo testers having problems with pc2700 ram. So I'm wondering if anyone has got their pc2700 ram to work with this board, and if so is it "stable" (in terms of how often does it crash and under what conditions). They said that the problems that occured with the ram could be problems with non-certified pc2700 ram at the time of the writting of the article, so now that ddr 333 is possible has anyone solved this problem? I don't plan to overclock this board, I just want to know if my ram will work with this board without crashing when I play jedi knights 2 or whatever. You don't have to have the board in order to answer the last question, but if you do have the board then please tell me what you can regarding all the above.

Thanks😀

My kingmax pc2700 works just fine on my XP333. There are some issues with Samsung ram and all ram in general when running more than one stick... You may want to bump your ram voltage up to 2.6 or 2.7 and see if that smoothes things out. I'd also recommend going to AMDMB.com forums go to the iwill forum and download the 411 beta bios for you board. That clears up most ram issues from what i hear. I'm running 2 x 256 kingmax and have never had any trouble with mine.

I have one stick of Kingmax PC2700 running at 175 MHz CAS 2 'normal' @ 2.8 volts right now. It will run up to 185 MHz CAS 2 @ 2.8 volts. Perfectly stable (tested w/ Prime 95). I am running the 0314 BIOS because I can't flash to the 0411 BIOS for some reason. When Iwill comes out with another official BIOS I will have badflash flash the chip for me. It's wierd because this is the only board I have ever have problems flashing.

I just purchased an Iwill XP333, AthlonXP 1800+, and 2 sticks of 256mb Samsung PC2700 ram with the intent to overclock. I also purchased the Alpha PAL8045 heatsink and an Enermax 80mm temperature-controlled fan. At first, the machine booted fine, but would not install WinXP Pro; I kept getting a STOP_IRQ error. I had a stick of Kingston PC2100 ram, so I took out both Samsung sticks and put in the Kingston. The computer worked fine. So I figured the Samsung ram was bad. Then I read on this forum and amdmb.com that there are problems with 2 sticks of ram in general, and specifically Samsung PC2700 ram, with the XP333. However, there seemed to be a bios fix for it, so I tried it out. Lo and behold, once I flashed the bios, I could run both sticks of Samsung ram, and everything is smooth as silk. Boy am I glad forums for information exchange such as anandtech and amdmb.com are available...

So far I am up to 1643mhz without doing anything but upping the bus speed and lowering the PCI divider (currently CPU/4.)

I hope this information helps some people with a similar configuration.
