? is in the title. What would the best settings be for Slotket on P3V4X?????
Just installed 700e SL45Y wk 20. Have been running Seti 24/7 @ 933 since 10am 01/09/01 for burn in. I can run with no errors up to 138Mhz bus (966Mhz). I had a 600e which could run solid at 144Mhz bus with all the same hardware listed below. Could this new chip just need more burn in or do you think it may just not have the ability. I did change the settings on my Slotket to 133bus 1.70vcc, where as before I had it at 100bus 1.65vcc. Temps running Low=30c Avg=36 with some high spikes to 51c with Seti running, less if Seti off. Any ideas. Thanks!

you may have to up the Vcore to 1.75-1.80V! Still, no guarantee that you'll get there but good luck.

I set the slotket to 133bus/1.70vcc instead of the default 100bus/1.65vcc and the only change I could see was that the BIOS available vcc settings changed to low of 1.70 instead of 1.65. Any thoughts on the IWill Slotket II settings vs. changing in BIOS??

I don't understand the temperature spikes, especially using the Pep66.
You may want to reapply the Artic Silver and reseat the heatsink.

jhites, I've got almost the same setup. P3V4X with the Iwill. I've got a 600E @ 800 by bumping the FSB to 133 and the vcore to 1.70v.

Now to see what I can get outta my 1.2GHz Thunderbird. hehehe

I don't think it really matters that much when it comes to setting the FSB on the slocket. I think you would get the same results whether you set it at default, 100, or 133. I think it may possibly make a difference for the voltage. I would recommend setting the voltage on the slocket. You probably will have to go up to 1.8V-185V to get close to 1GHZ. You still may not even get there with that kind of voltage. Most overclockers would probably accept 1.85-1.9V as the maximum voltage to use on that CPU(1.65V default). Good Luck!!
