office boy, what do you base that on? Having over 1000 testings under my belt, I can assure you that
IS the wrong answer. Get an MSI 6905 Master! :D
BTW, also avoid Abit's own Slotket III. I have had cpus that would not boot at overclocked speed on both the Iwill and Abit, work just fine on the MSI. I sold a CPU to a person once who could not get one of my pretests running. It turned out he had an Iwill II. Sending him an MSI fixed the problem. I have plenty of similar situations. No, I don't get kickbacks from MSI. ;)

1 thing for sure, Iwill beats the Abit's SloketIII (but I love Abit's slotket with the plastic enclosure.)

Abit = 10
MSI, Asus = 14
Iwill = 16

hope price and quality are proportional.

Thanks office boy also for the speed in reply.
I don't relpy or post here much, but read here
more than most of you. The 6905 will be mine.
Thanks Geo.

Well compuwiz1, I can't compare to an MSI (because mine has been backordered for 3 months from onvia (hell I don't even have a use for it anymore :( ))
But of all the slockets I've used (Iwill, abit, tekram, lot's of generic,) I?ve liked the Iwill's the most, and they have been the most stable.

Now just because one person had an Iwill slocket that would not work well does not mean (or give proof by any means) that Iwill is inferior (even to the supposedly mighty MSI).

Anyway there is no other way to answer 340mopar's question except with an opinion, and that's what I did :)

I have both and cannot see a difference both run up to the same speeds and for the most part the same settings... So I would say buy both and test for yourself to see what works the best... I would say this though if you have an FCPGA processor use a board that has an FCPGA socket and the same goes for slot 1 to slot 1... (Reason) 1 less connection to cause a problem or hinder a potenial great overclock...
Just my .02

ugh
1-Iwill
2-Tekram
3-Abit
Some generics are as good as the Iwill some worse then Abit (Luck of the draw mostly...)
And like I said, I haven't tried the MSI, But I know some that have and said it wasn't all that great...

I had all three of them.

Believe me. Don't get IWILL it's crap. It has a bunch of barrels around it.

GET MSI MASTER 6905.

I HAVE both Iwill and MSI, and tell ya the truth, Iwill is better. I have the following reasons:

1. Good case, good retention lock, better than MSI
2. Good craftsmanship, high quality and stability, same goes for MSI
3. Nicely laid out, adequate space between the socket and the jumpers compare to the lack of space on the MSI
4. Big ass capacitors, 1000uf compare to MSI's 100(150?)uf.
5. More voltage selections.

Overclocking has been just as good as MSI. It's worth the money, trust me.

thermite88: You'll have to read what table 2 says there under Iwill,

"No longer shipping rev 0.9 New Version available see Table 1 above"

And whats on Table 1? Their new and awesome SlocketIII, with on-slocket VMR.

The revision 1.0/1.1 MSI MS-6905 Master also failed to meet the requirement anyway.

<< thus will void your Intel warranty if you have a retail CPU >>

Yeah right, like they can prove it, just like they can prove you overclocked your cpu.

rickn: They designed the chips, I dont see they have any problems finding out what you did with it. But Im sure they cant detect what slocket you used.

Guys,

The Iwill 3 is ok, but the Iwill 2 is not. Why risk your precious CPU when you can buy the Abit SlotketIII, Asus S370-133 or the MSI Master at about the same price.

Please, read the Intel page. If you still want to buy the Iwill 2 slocket, that is your choice.

Intel doesnt care how a cpu fails, unless their is actual visible damage. A friend of mine from Canada took a voltage thing and fried his cpu so intel would send him a version that supported SMP, and they replaced it without question.

I have been using Iwill Slotket II for about a year, and have never had any issues with it. Currently run a 650e @ 966mhz

I agree about Iwill II`s my reason`s

P3 700e @1050mhz 1.65 volts
Celeron II 533a @1008mhz 1.80 volts

Get this both on Iwill II`s w/Alpha`s (PAL35T w/Delta) on an MSI6163pro motherboard... (yep the AGP was kick`in)
