Hi all,
I have a question regarding the Iwill slocket 2.

Is there any truth to this??? I heard that in order for the cumines to work with this slocket, the manufacturer rig at the last minute(manually connected) a wire in the back of the slocket by attaching it to where the jumpers are???

Please LMK.

Thanks.

also, has anyone tried a P3 chip in the slocket???

This is entirely possible. Often when companies make a minor engineering change, they do things like this until they can get the next rev of the board out. It's not uncommon to see wires or resistors manually attached to a board.

I bought 2 of these soon after they were available. Neither of them has this "wire". I have been running a P3-500E at 667Mhz in a Soyo 6BA+III MB for about 18 months. I also ran a P3-700E@933Mhz for a while until I got a socket MB for it. Never a problem. Good Slocket in my opinion.
