Hi there.
I'm looking for a great deal on a relatively low end system. At a minimum I need it to come with a zip drive, have 40G hard drive and 256 ram.
I almost got one that Staples had but I want it to come with the zip. I don't want to have to bother putting it in myself. Could, don't want to. Too busy.
Thanks for any help.my email addy

I'm curious... why do you want a zip drive built in? I hadn't paid much attention to them in the past, but I thought they were going the way of the 5.25 inch floppy drive.
Since you're looking for a great deal on a low end system, I'd recommend getting the great deal on as close as you can get to your needs. There are a lot of systems out there with 40GB hard drives and 256MB Ram, but the ones that have zip drives also may be harder to get. Just get the computer without the zip drive, and if you can't put one in, have someone you know who's familiar with them install it for you. (Since you're online, I'm going to make the assumption you already have a computer, and perhaps need the zip drive for files you already have.... just take it out of the old computer and put it into the new). Good Luck

Hey Pizza, thanks for responding.
I don't have a zip on my current system. I'm attending college and I do a lot of my work there and would like to bring it home and work on my system at home. Floppies don't hold enough and most of the system at school don't have cd writers. But they all have zips!
They're really convenient to have cause they hold a lot.
My current home system is old. Don't even have a gig of hard drive, nor a cd writer. I do have an external writer but I have to use it on my sons system cause it doesn't work on mine. Anyway... 🙂
I 'spose I COULD take time to put the zip in myself but I'm sooooo busy now days. Also, I prefer a system to come user ready so if anything doesn't work right the seller can't blame me for messing with it.
Thanks!

an external zip drive (USB) would probably be the best way to go since you're afraid of installing things. hard to find systems with zip drives in them nowadays, except maybe if you custom build one.

Good afternoon, anyone know if there are coupons for nike factory stores? I guess kinda like friends and family of footlocker. TIA.

I am looking for coupon codes for Dell. I want to buy an 18 inch Dell Flat Panel monitor which is about $575. I need 18 inch since that's the viewable size of my current monitor, but I will never pay more than $500 for a monitor. If anyone knows any coupon codes for this, preferably stackable ones, I would greatly appreciate it. I really really really want one of those, but I can't afford to pay more than $500 for one.

I'm looking for a laptop for around $1000 (after rebates and coupons and such, of course). This is for a coworker who would like to be able to do some simple 3D modeling on it (SolidWorks), so a healthy amount of RAM is a must. Specs I'd like to see are as follows:

CPU around 1.8 GHz P4 (or 1800+ AMD)
512MB RAM
Some sort of GeForce or Radeon video
DVD/CD-RW combo drive
15" screen preferable, but would accept 14" if the price is right
WinXP (Home would be fine)
Some sort of word processing and spreadsheet software (OfficeXP would be great, but for the price, I'll probably have to settle for Works or something)
Some sort of DVD viewing software
Any other software would be a bonus, but probably of the least importance

edit: Sorry, forgot to add...preferably from a reputable brand with a decent warranty also.

Thanks!

phkat, why not get a USB pen drive? If the PCs at your school have USB ports, and USB support (not 95 or NT). I wouldn't rely on zip disks.
