I am currently using dial-up and am looking for competitive promotions for broadband in my area (central Florida). I've tried Broadbandreports.com with not much luck. How do you research the best possible cable/DSL deals for your area?

Start a thread that tracks survey companies/advisory panels that pay you to take surveys, what surveys are currently active, who appears to be qualifying for them, etc.

For example, I belong to www.vividence.com and www.tomsadvisorypanel.com. And one other one but I can't remember the name 🙂

Recently I completed surveys for Tom's Hardware, the first was for a Wireless LAN survey, that paid me $10. Then a follow up survey appeared for another $10.

I think this would be pretty good as a separate hot deal thread, but I don't want the board-nutzi's jumping all over me either. What do folks think?

 
Now that Best Buy carries the Plextor DVD burners I'd imagine that we'd be able to sometime do better than the $249 those drives go for based on Pricewatch.com. I've always bought Plextor and it would nice to see these in more retail stores so we can work out a Hot Deal on them.
 

Anyone know if CostCo stocks the Nikon Coolpix 5000 camera and what the price is?

Nikon has a $200 rebate from authorized dealers and CostCo is one of them. I am not a CostCo member - yet.

Anyone remember a post here a long time ago which had Birkenstock's direct from the manufacturer and led to some German website?

I need new sandals ;-)

If no one has that, let me know if there are any hot deals on Birks. I've already checked Sierra Trading post, but they don't have my size of Milanos.
