Ivy-bridge updates for air by fall 2k12?

I've decided that I'm going to purchase a macbook air to assist with university studies -

But I'm unsure whether I should buy now or wait until right before my semester begins, because apple may release an updated air with ivy-bridge?

Could this be a possibility?

It's a possibility. But you're probably looking at a late-this-year release, which can be anywhere from 8 to 10 months.

If you need one now, there's no reason to wait.

That's 8 months from now. Nobody really knows. But that's the problem. If you need an Air 8 months from now, then I think it's too early to ask the question. Ivy Bridge is not even out yet.

Another solution is: Buy the Air now, then sell it and buy the new Air once the Ivy Bridge refresh is out.
