I was just about to buy an LG Volt Android phone for my kids to use in the car for games when I saw this:

It just went out of stock, so it must be selling well. However, my question is really about battery life. It's a dual core Intel 7" tablet with 2GB RAM, 16GB ROM.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any detailed reviews of it that focus on battery life. I'd really like to make sure that this thing can give us at least 6 hours of game play between charges.

If you have used one of these, I would really appreciate any thoughts on battery life. Thanks in advance!
(note, price has jumped from $59 to $91 for some reason today)

You aren't going to find a lot of useful reviews on those no name black friday specials. Chances are battery life won't be very good.

Tigerdirect is selling a similar tab (ARM instead of Intel) for $40. Not a bad price for a throw away kids tablet.

Battery is 2800mah. So 6 hours of straight gameplay will probably be a stretch. But that goes for most sub $100 tablets.

My Personal recommendation would be the Kindle Fire HD6 which can be had for $80 and is a great kids tablet. Battery life is also decent too from what I've seen and judging from past kindle fire devices.

They also make a kids edition. And if your kids break it, amazon will replace it no questions asked.

I picked up the 8G version of this tablet for $49.99, free ship & no tax. NE still has this listed in stock at that price.

I have been playing around with it for 4 days now and overall I am impressed. This tablet is fast. The big difference is something you just don't see on inexpensive tablets, 2GB RAM. I can have numerous apps open and still have memory to spare.

To answer your question, battery life is OK. 5-6 hours of game-playing would not be a stretch. At 1024 x 600 the display is more than adequate in the 7 in size.

The biggest drawback for me is the sound, not good. One speaker (I knew that going in) which you can barely hear at max volume. I tried some good earphones, and even plugged it into my high powered stereo system. There is just no real power output for sound. Now I don't know whether this unit is defective in that respect or if the whole model line is like that.

I will probably RMA this unit to see if the next one has better audio output. Though if this is a problem that is inherent in the line, I will still keep it. It is a zippy little machine.
