I've resisted temptation....(anyone else tempted? Damn you, Hot Deals!!!)

....I was so close to ordering like 4 laptops in the past week. I'm still on my good 'ole Thinkpad 600E. Whew.

Anyone else severely tempted this week?

My dumb@$$ missed out on the Brother HL-1440 that could have been had @ OMAX for ~199+tax...Now cheapest I can get it is @ Dell for 244 😱

That is one kick ass laser printer, Brother makes the BEST entry level laser printer ... why pay several hundred more for an HP?

HP kicks ass when it comes to large workgroup/corporate printers but Brother ownz the home/SOHO market.

Don't tempt me! Was talking to my roommate about setting up a WiFi setup so I could surf the net from anywhere in the house.

Was going to order the Dell i2650 but it seems slow, heavy and no modular bays ... the 8200 is way to heavy.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

nope.... i'm not buying a laptop until i see one that fits all my needs (small, powerful (by my standards), cheap)

The Thinkpad X22 for $1079 was nice too 😀

And the HP's seem good too 🙂

Uh, oh....i think i need to step away from the computer again...

Great timing for me to MISS the deal too...my old Epson Stylus Color(atleast 7 years old) just about sh!t itself, and I've been eyeing the Brother for a good while, but missed out on the deal. I'll probably still grab it for $244 since school just started up and I need a good printer.

Yeah I would look no further than the Brother HL-1440. I am a Brother fanboi only because I have owned a Brother HL-1240 (it's predeccesor) for about 2 years, got it for free from OD during the FREE MSN $400 fiasco (thank you BILL GATES!).

It's simply an awesome laser printer, I can't think of enough good things to say about it.

As I stated the IBM thread I didn't like the small LCD screen, no optical/floppy and I think those were my major gripes. I have no problems with a P3/800 that's plenty fast for me, probably also low battery consumption and heat as well.

I'm not to crazy about HP laptops though, I think that HP has a desktop processor in it?

RossMAN: Any idea on what the benefit of maxing out the RAM in the HL-1440 is? I just can't seem to put RAM + Printers together 😱

For some reason maxing out the RAM on the HL-1440 is popular with Hot Dealers. I think it only benefits you with large print jobs (I'm guessing > 100 pages).

I've successfully printed 70 pages of text and graphics on my HL-1240 without any problems.

What's it missing, specs, how much?
Wasn't missing anything! Even had the coupon for a free wifi card and the UPC so I could get a $100 rebate. I paid $1430 out the door. After rebate $1330.

Radeon 7500

If you would have said around $1100-$1200 I'd have to jump off a chair or something dramatic like that.

What was the retail (non-open-box) price for the 1500?
