I've reconsidered case choices...

After looking at cases like the Raidmax X1 and CM centurion, I decided to consider some more expensive cases and see what they offered. However, I just didn't want to pay out the $135 for a shipped CM Praetorian or something similar. So I found this TT Soprano w/windor for $96 shipped.

My question is, how quiet is it and how is it in terms of general quality?

My friend has a Tsunami Dream and told me TT cases would be loud. I am going to swap out the stock fans for quieter units and might add a fan controller too. Will this case really be that loud?

Is there any chance of a Sunbeam fan controller fitting in there? the front door looks tight

Also, someone said his 6800GS was a very tight fit b/c of case length. Will a 7600GT or X1800GTO fit in there?

it is a nice cool case i have one!

anyway

i have no idea if a real big knob fan controller can fit in there

and the usb and firewire and sound connections in top are very confusing

i ahve mobo manual also!
i just took them out

it is a quiet case though🙂

I build one of these for my brother....decent case as far as build quality, not too hard to work with.

Sorry I cannot give you much detail as I only worked with it for a day or so, but I do not remember any major hassles.

It is fairly quiet, but that depends on your gear, how loud the fans are that you install, as well as whether you get a window version.

This is a completely different case. They just tried to copy the same external styling.

You can get a real wavemaster for pretty cheap at compgeeks with the 10% off coupons. I just bought mine for $75 shipped. I actually found it a lot harder to work with than my 8 year old Enlight 7200.

My personal pick for a cheap and quiet case is still the Antec SLK3000B. Put in 2 quiet 120mm fans and you have a very nice setup.

Yes, the Soprano is a Wavemaster styled front on an ordinary steel box. Both the real Wavemaster and the "poor man's" version (Soprano) are known for very little clearance behind the door - even some mobile drive racks have to be recessed a bit to clear. That's why CM made the Aerogate 3 fan controller (which has been on sale at SVC.com for a while). The Sunbeam would have to be recessed a bit too - but then, you have the door to hide such compromises (mixed color drives and whatnot)... To recess items, mount them a bit loosely, close the door (will push items in), then push the item(s) in a bit more (just a paper thickness so the door doesn't tap a knob every time you close it) and then tighten.
. I second one of the above posters and would get the real thing at http://www.geeks.com - wait for the Sizzling Sunday sale and the price might be lower again or use a coupon code. On yesterday's green light sale it was $65.
