i'm pretty sure kelly hu is chinese/hawaiian. she went to a school where it is required for her to have hawaiian blood.

edit: hmm...i guess you're right i checked the hapas.com site and it says kelly is hawaiian/chinese/english.

I was in Japan in the late 60's where I saw the families a lot of African-American servicemen who were married to Japanese woman. Their children were gorgeous! It was also a well known fact that the French-Vietnamese mixed ladies were incredible.

Also, most hot looking African-American woman in the movies are of mixed race with Haley Berry being just one of many.

No, it is a good questions, because Japanese would normally give them a hard time and treat them, as you said, as 2nd class. But, since they lived on a military based with lots of other mixed race kids they were fine. I doubt that any of these kids would every pick Japan to live once grown.
