I've never spent so much time in the bathroom

I thought this thread was about major whiskey-dick and an uncontrollable urge to masturbate while there were people in the house.

I was about 11 or 12 when the first Lego Mindstorm kit came out, and I think I ended up getting it around that time - I don't think it was too old when my parents got it for me.
I was ecstatic. I was having a ball with the simple programming interface on the PC.

My best claim to fame before I kind of stopped playing it with (if I was younger when it came out, I am sure I would have continued making better projects. I would have liked it for a longer period of time, as after awhile I started not playing with legos)...

I had a decent automated kitchen mopper. Why do mopping chores when my robot can do it for me? 😀

I also kind of made a tethered remote control to it so I could use it to have fun playing Zamboni in the kitchen.

Couldn't really make the program complex enough to make it capable of cleaning the floor with the same capability as an automated machine. But the tethered remote at least did a damn good job. Half the task was just building it right so that it did a half-decent cleaning job. It didn't even do it half-decent. With enough time and more legos I am sure it could have been an awesome kitchen Zamboni. ^_^

awesome.

maybe some felt, or some sort of frictiony material on the bottom of the hammer?

I suggested to him we put on that non slip stuff you put under mats so they don't move...and yes the pivot point I think needs to be out a bit further so that it's away from the tank a bit more...

I think the pivot point is more important...I just didn't know how to explain it 😀

the length or strength of that rod needs tweaking. Remember what Archimedes said:

"Give me a long enough lever, and I'll move the world."

😉

I don't think mindstorm motors are able to push that thing down. He will also need something like rubber to avoid sliding.

I will laugh when everything falls in the toilet accidentally

My 8 year old was trying to design an automatic flushing toilet sensor with his lego mindstorms. He did pretty well, although it never really quite worked.

He will work at it more tomorrow (had to go to bed) 😉

Here's where he got to so far with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDhL_PY_qMM

Does that thing come with an optical sensor? You're going to have to buy one at some point anyway, unless you're doing something pressure sensitive, in which case you'd have to sit on the toilet for it to work.

sound sensor, optical, and colour sensor I believe....

Best use of TWSS I've seen - bravo!

Sealy, you should be very proud - clever kid. My kids like to write down inventions but they've never followed through on a prototype.

:awe: Cheers!

And yea, you have a smart kid there Sealy! It's great to see that some kids nowadays still have a passion for creativity and ingenuity.

why not try pushing it straight down from above instead of trying to have an arm swing and push it?

Sound sounds impractical. It would need to analyze the difference between other bathroom noises and/or the sound of piss and shit.

Sound would also fail if you stealth piss without making a sound (possible to do by aiming).

whoa... i don't even remember what i was doing at 8 years old... prolly eating glue and sniffing markers. managing to color inside the lines was next to impossible

Is eating glue and sniffing markers fun?

I mean, I just never did that because neither looked very appetizing.

I'd rather breath in the wonderful smell of gasoline at at a Shell station.

Any reason specifically Shell? 🙂

I agree that gas smells wonderful though. I've never huffed it, not that dumb, but I can see what attracted people to start doing it.
