i'm sure it'll have the same wow factor and it'll save you some cash ;)

yea, i only got my gf a 2mp camera because she doesn't know jack sh!t about photo editing, all she needs is to develop her pictures. But hey, if your gf loves to work on photoshop, and is a techie, a BIG CONGRATS =)

IMHO you're nucking futs for spending all that money on your 2 year anniversary of going out. Unless you've got cash to blow I suggest consider some of the options discussed here.

edit: Or consider jewelry if you're going to be spending that much money.

Just get her flowers and a card...spend the effort into writing that card and/or poem. Total cost: $20.

$20- a dozen of helium balloons (to fill the trunk of my car, with the above gift.. then have her open it)

$20- ice skating for two

$40- dining for two at a semi fancy restaurant

_________
$430.... grand total...

for our 2 yr anniv.

What some advice? Forget the balloons and ice skating. If you really want to make your gf feel special, buy her some nice roses, but give them to her (or have it delivered) at work, infront of her friends. It's not the roses that matters to the woman, it's the feeling she gets from them, and there's no better feeling than to have all your girlfriends and coworkers around you know that you have some guy that cares for you enough to send you flowers. I'm sure women here will support this claim.

Instead of the iceskating, add it to the cost of the restaurant. Take her to a NICE restaurant, not a semi-fancy one. I'm sure she's been to semi-fancies ones, give her an experience she's never had, or one she's rarely had.

I second the nicer eatery. Your original plan sounds like something I did in HS. Substitute the balloons for basic latex ones--it has the same effect and costs less. Add all the savings to your meal. $40 meal is a bit weak.

Girls like to talk and show off.. its a given.. instead of the balloons, you should send flowers to her place of work.. especially if there are a lot of girls working there... it will earn you brownie points...

Unless you are a Tom Lykis(sp?) fan.. then just spend $40 or less and dump her in 3 dates if she doesnt put out :p

Ouch, that much for 2 yr. anniv. for dating? I don't think me or my wife spends that much on each other for our anniv. and we're married! I'd say go to a nice restaurant, get a ~$40 bottle of champagne, nice meal, that should be <$100. Perfect for this anniv. I think.
