Ever since he started plugging Bet
MGM, I've totally lost respect for him. I think gambling is fine, but don't support the house. I live in a state that only recently legalized gambling. Now all we see are these sports books commercials. I think anyone associated with it is dirty...

I'm really curious how much money they paid him and what their contingency list look like if he didn't sign on.

I am not into gambling. Once in a while, I would put a few dollars for ATOT lottery drawing or at work when the jackpot would be about $1 billion dollars or so. Texas is losing a lot of money to Louisiana because of the river casino boats and hotels and so far, Texas won't even consider to do anything like that to stop the bleeding.

I learn that you can't stop people to gamble, drink alcohol, or do drugs by laws/restrictions. History already proven that fact. Might as well accommodate them via government tolerance and taxation.

Right - but... lotteries that are administered by the state are A-Okay and DEFINITELY not gambling.

As it has been commonly referred to - it's a tax on the un-educated for the educated. These aren't my words - it has been repeated many times: https://www.businessinsider.com/lottery-is-a-tax-on-the-poor-2012-4

As far as gambling in general - everyone has a vice. It could be gambling, drinking, smoking tobacco, weed, working excessively, or harder drugs. We expect you as a human to be able to administer vices to yourself.

Or are you in favor of bringing back prohibition because daddy government knows whats best for us?

Reading, not your strong suit?

What do you think "Support the house" means? You're a little slow arent'cha?
He said he DOESN'T support the house. Meaning, he doesn't support the actors promoting the actual gambling institution/company. You started spouting off about the lottery, which the OP never mentioned.

But by gambling, you are supporting the house... that's the definition of a casino/gambling setup. The house always comes out on top.

It's very apparent some of you people lack the ability to comprehend. He is talking about people (celebs or actors) publicizing and supporting, through advertising and marketing, the companies behind gambling. Not the game and people gambling itself.

Bingo.

Apparently people here are too stupid to understand what "The house" means.

Hint: It doesn't just mean "celebrities that sponsor it" lol.

Do you like digging graves further? This is getting pretty hilarious.

Quoted for more stupidity.

"I think gambling is fine, but don't support the house"

"I think anyone associated with it is dirty."

He is talking specifically about the promotion of it and Jamie Foxx engaging in marketing for MGM.

Quoting without an argument doesn't make you smart - it just confirms the stupidity we have all suspected ;)
I've already explained it and I was editing my post. But, believe me, you're not going to get it.

He isn't condemning the act of gambling or the companies who conduct gambling. He's saying he lost respect for the people promoting it. Gambling is an issue for a lot of people.

He means supporting it through marketing and advertising it. What doesn't like is Jamie Foxx supporting the companies or the "house" by advertising for them. How the fuck is that so hard to understand?
He said he supports gambling. Ergo he supports the house.

He said he supports gambling. Ergo he supports the house.
But the thread is about not liking Jamie Foxx BECAUSE he is supporting the house through advertising. The point isn't that he personally supports the house. He doesn't agree with the promotions on TV running all the time.

Additionally, he said "gambling is fine". He never said he supports it personally. He may, he may not, but that wasn't the point of the thread. You are misconstruing what he said and don't understand the purpose of his thread or statement as a whole.

Pretty interesting back and forth, if you step back and look vs "your side."

Lotteries are a tax on people who were unable to get a quality education, so really you're just punishing the lower classes for being lower class.

We need to tax the rich instead. and put it all into public education. That education needs to focus mostly on critical thinking skills. Cuz I've been watching the kiddies get dumber and dumber for about 20 years now. And people born in 2002 voted this last election.
