I've had this engagement ring sitting here for about 6 months now... time to do something with it.

I wonder how much the used jewelry place will give me for it. I paid $1200 for it. I wonder if I can even get half that back out of it.

Coincidentally, I paid $1200 for my couch as well, and I really find that a lot more useful than the ring. If you have $1200 to blow, buy a couch before you buy a ring.

Alternatively, you could rack up some gambling debt and trade it to big mikey in lieu of losing your thumbs 🙂

You could do what a neighbor of mine did - melt it down and make another engagement ring out of it.

It's kind of creepy really.

He got engaged 2 times that never worked out. Had two rings from that. Then the third time when he got engaged he melted down those two rings to make the third one.
