I cannot get it to work. As far as I can see I have all the jumpers set right. When I turn it on, it just sits there. It doesn't post, no video, no nothing. Just silence. I don't have any clue what model it is, so I cannot look up a manual...I've got the PN and the SN but that doesn't mean much.

The board has onboard video and soundand an AMD K6-2 350. I've got an old 3dfx Voodoo3 2000 PCI in there to see if that would do anything, but still nothing.

Any ideas??? Thanks

if nothing at all happens when you switch on, then it sounds like the board isn't getting any power from the psu!

Check Giga-Byte's Web-stie for the SiS board...
I think that may be it depending on asimilar Compaq I identified earlier...

Cyber--I looked at Giga-Byte's site...nothing. It's got 4 slots- 2 PCI and 2 ISA shared.

Bacillus--what can I do to fix it? Try a different psu?

yes, if you can find one.
I'm assuming that you've already tried reseating your cpu, videocard & ram!

Yeah I reseated everything....even tried it in different spots. I'll get an old psu from a friend....I'll be back later and let you know how it goes :).

I have 3 GA-5SMM boards. 2 were replcements for the bad Compaq board, but NOT A SINGLE ONE WORKS. The GA-5SMM DOES only have 4 slots (3 PCI/1 ISA/1 Shared) with the DIMM slots parallel to the top PCI slot.

Well, I guess the board is fried. I tried everything...and I mean EVERYTHING I could think of again. Oh well, looks like I'll need a new board ;).

Thanks for your help!
