Exploding Head Syndrome

This just started for me over the past year. It's been happening in more frequent intensity. It's freakin scary! It usually happens to me as I'm waking up- drifting in and out of sleep- I feel some presure in my head building up, then "WHAM!!!", it feels like someone hits me over the head with a brick!!!

Thank God for the net, at least I know it's relatively benign and not a tumor.

'Exploding Head Syndrome' is one hell of a name of a 'disorder'. first thing I thought of was Upright Citizen's Brigade.

It's a pretty scary experience.

For all those who haven't experienced it, imagine someone shooting a gun next to(in my case, inside my head) your ear as you're waking up.

So thats what it's called? I have it also. Doesn't bother me much, it will happen and then I go back to sleep.

Never really thought much of it, Didn't even know they had a name for it.

That's because it doesn't really exist. It's just the figment of a laymen imagination.

Try having "benign sexual headache"... I had it for a couple of months a few years back... The first time I thought I was having a stroke.

Holy Crap! I had experienced this twice before. I can't believe that it is an actual condition. I also used to suffer night terrors from time to time, but that hasn't happenned in years.

It's like someone blew up an M80 near me. I remember thinking to myself that it was lightning, but it was the middle of winter, and not a cloud in the sky when I looked.

It's a pretty lol experience. 😀
