Hey, okay so about 2 weeks ago now, my neighbor wanted to change the phone lines. She claimed that the phone lines were ruining her shingles and so she wanted the wire moved from coming across her house to mine to coming straight from the street. I wasn't very happy with doing this but I agreed. Anyways, it took 2 days to complete. When it was done, there was a terrible noise on the line(verizon said it's my equipment's fault). I can't talk to anyone or get online.
So she's been playing cat and mouse with me trying to talk to her about the problem. So far, I've had an electrician come in and he said it would cost 500 dollars to have the house rewired0. Is this reasonable? I've told her the price, and got a chance to talk to her husband. I offered to pay half but he told me since its a problem in my house he said I should pay the whole. I told him that HE wanted this done and so he should accept the consequences, but he didn't listen.
Now I'm trying to get MCI (my phone company) to get verizon to put a different line (hopefully which will fix it). What should I do? Do you think charging the neighbor half is reasonable?
