I've got a question about Ricing....

Many people on this board think that ricing a car is stupid and it makes a car look dumb. Now... today I've seen two threads that have been closed because they advertised an auction on Ebay that the seller was auctioning off Athlon stickers. Granted that you can do many things when ricing out a car, but what says you can't put some cool accessories on your box? I have a friend who has done some crazy stuff with his cases. What makes ricing your car less cool than ricing your box?
 
An example might be putting on an AMD sticker with only intel is inside!
Or an AMD Type R sticker with a regular AMD chip running things.
 
yeah I'm with Warcleric on the ricing your box... (I.E. - Stickers, Plexi-glass, Neon lights, etc.) One of my friends made a box out of a shop-vac... I think he may still have the pictures from when he did it... it came out good... It worked.

lol Cj has it right, what exactly is the point of putting a huge sticker saying powered by Honda on a civic or any other obvious car made by honda?
 
I only brought this thread up because many people seem to be hypocrites, they post in threads about people doing stupid rice jobs to their car and then go work on the neon lights on their case...

That's just my opinion.
 
worrying about what others think is "cool" is lame... if you want to put a plexiglass window and a neon tube on your case, go the hell ahead... it's your thang, do what u wanna do...

same as if you think your car looks better with a spoiler/rims/bodykit, whatever... go for it...

the ppl who talk isht are a bunch of judgemental pricks that don't have the brains/balls to determine/do what they feel like... therefore it makes it a lot easier on them if some other moron tells them what's cool or not... i prefer to think of them as "hataz"

if i had the extra cash sure i'd like a pimped out case with blowholes and professionally rounded cables, etc... and though everything done may not really be worth the money as far as "performance-enhancing" goes, it'd be something that I think is cool, so fvck everyone else...

Color matched components
Excessive paint schemes (ie: flames)
Lights inside the case
AMD Athlon case stickers on Duron systems

Not compu-rice:
Fans
Large HSFs
AMD Athlon case stickers on Athlon systems
Basic black paint schemes


Items that need to be taken on a case by case basis:
Orb HSFs
Cases made from other items (ie: shop vac, scanner, beer box)

hpkeeper: As for my cases, they're just like my car, factory original. Well except that the sides almost never get put on them.

how does modding a case affect your comfort level? or even ridiculous spoilers/stickers? str8 h8in...

Compu-rice would be putting a TBird sticker on a Duron box 😉
Besides, all that light stuff is dumb IMO
I'd rather spend cash on making my machine fast 🙂
