I've gone to the "dark" side of soundcards....

Didn't try the other one, 1_1, its rather occluded by the GD video card. I did try the x8/x4_2 and 1_2.
I have a raid card in the x4_3 slot, if that matters.
I'll keep checking back , I won't abandon this even though the card doesn't owe me anything.
Thanks for helping

One other thing you can check. Are you using any SATA ports? If you are, check your motherboard manual, and see if using certain SATA ports turn off certain slots. My board does that, so I think yours does too.

Hmmm, Yes im using 4 of them, 2 SSd and 2 optical drives.
Jeez, it can't be that simple, can it?
I'll let you know

Praise the spice ;-)

Hmm, sitting here rtfm'ing with my java and I see no mention < using this will disable PCIe1x slot>
Maybe some bios options I can try but it is not definitive in that I speak english and manual writers do not.

It's not a bios option. It just happens if you use certain SATA ports. Let me see if the manual for your board is online.

The manual is online, I was going to link it but I thought that a bit presumptuous that you will actually read it , for me, on a Sunday.😛

No mention in the manual, so that slot must be bad. You have a 3 year warranty, but that means no pc for who knows how long.

I contact support and they gave me the QVL and flat out said mu card was not tested therefore not supported, not really enough to send it back,
onboard sound is ok enough and I hooked up my ancient altek ap3 or whatevertheyare and im good I guess.
Thank You for your help, much appreciated.
I should test it with a card already in there like the 3ware card but that's more tinkering than I want to do today, its nice out 🙂
