I would love to amaze you with my blazing fast internet speeds but unfortunately the switch I'm on only goes to 100mbps, and I can't get speedtest to work on the VNC sessions, so basically you're going to have to imagine a 700/400 connection, I've never found any server fast enough to take more upload than that.

How can you have internet higher than 100 and not be able to afford a gigabit switch?

FIOS. Running over wireless g on the wifey's iPad. Probably be faster jacked in but how much speed do you need?

I'm paying for 15/5 FIOS, and they are nice enough to let me have 25/5 consistent. That might change once more people in the area subscribe though.

I'm at work but my cable at home is 18 megabit. 300GB monthly allowance. Works awesome, (consistently benches around 18) I have zero complaints and have no need for anything more.

My home internet is 10Mbps down/ 1Mbps up. It's been running around 14Mbps down / 1Mbps up but I think that is due to TW upgrading to 15Mbps down as their lowest tier (I'm on Insightbb but they were bought out by TW last year - just waiting on the name change). I do wish that they would give more upstream bandwidth though. 1 Mbps sucks.

The US is terribly behind much of the industrialized world with internet speeds. Those countries realize that the internet is a great business infrastructure needed to move forward, similar to the interstate highway system in the US. The US does have a more spread out population that tends to hurt but mainly too driven by money and profits (at any cost) to worry about things little things like competitiveness. Of course, the average US user worries about Facebook and Netflix more than using it for business so i guess it's all in how you look at things.

I get like 4.8mbps my DSL line and can watch HD netflix without buffering and online game no problem. Internet speed is over-rated big time.

i pay for 12/1, which is all i used to get, i purchased my own modem and now i get this

faster down then VZW 4G which normally maxes out at like 25 down, but has like 20 up

sounds like you either have no QoS or the wrong QoS from the ISP. is the speed consistently that, or does it fluctuate a lot? if it's stable at those rates, do not call ISP for issues or they will certainly fix the glitch while they're at it!

Just upgraded from 10m/1m Videotron connection to 30m/3m TekSavvy (both are Cable). The ping times are quite a bit higher on Speedtest, yet when gaming I actually get less than 20ms. Weird.

Very happy with the connection so far.

its always like that has been for months

A little old sadly, should be faster now, but I just max out my connection at ~94mb/sec now. I need to move my laptop to a gig port and see if I can max that out too now.

Dual redundant OC-12's are awesome. I was told we upgraded to dual OC-48's, but I can't test that without remoting into a production server that has a connection to the 10 gig network, but I am not crazy enough to remote in and try the speed test.

FiOS used to have a 20/20 symmetrical plan, we got grandfathered in. Slightly higher download, slightly lower upload... I'll take it. 😛

well a 2960G is kinda pricey compared to a 2950, so they stuck us with a 2950 in the office.

Strangely the old office had a 2960G, and itès still there not doing very much, work is so weird sometimes.

I have the same problem, they don't really want me hooking up to the 10gig stuff 😛

Don't ever mention your Internet speed in a new thread. The thread will turn into a "post your speed test results" thread. We've had plenty of those.
