i've come across a hdd problem

I recently built a new box taht had an sata drive in it. i didn't have sata power connector so i took one out of my gaming box. the connector i took out went to my pair of mirrored drives and replaced with a standard molex connector.

now the problem
everytime i boot up, tere is a screen that gives me a status of my raid arrays. the striped array is doing fine, but my mirrored array, is degrading. i thought the power output for the four pin molex was the same as that of the sata power connectors?

i've alreaydy backed up my data, but am abit nervous about what to do next. i have already placed the sta power connectors back but the porblem seems to still be there. if i broke the mirror up would i lose my data or still have it?

anything would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like one fo the drives is dying, the power connector probably had nothing to do with it.

If one is dying, you need to find out which one, remove & replace it. The docs or website for your motherboard or RAID controller should explain this.

figured it out. one of the molex connectors was also split with my video card (aiw x800xt) pretty much sapping all the juice. took another free connector and fixed the problem. both arrays are nice and healthy again 🙂
