I've been waiting for 45 minutes!

I've been sitting in the lobby for 45 minutes now in the lobby to be seen by my primary care physician and yet people that came in 10 min ago has already been called. This is pissing me off as I have an appointment with them at 1:00. Is this normal or should I find a new physician? 2 people that came after me and in just 10 minutes they were called while I'm still sitting here.

not sure what timezone you are in, so cant really figure out the timing here
if you got there at 12:30 for 1pm appt. and it is now 1:15, they are only 15 min late. that is pretty normal for a dr office. not sure why people are jumping in front of you tho.

Assuming you checked in....it's entirely possible that the other people are seeing other physicians who aren't backed up, or just there for lab work.

They have now advanced me to the next smaller waiting room where you don't have the tv to watch or magazine to read. I was sitting in a comfortable chair in the lobby and now I'm sitting on a butcher table with the disposable paper.

I've waited longer to have some forms filled out with no patients queued.

Complain after it has been 9 hours.
I had to go to the local ER just to get a prescription refilled on a weekend because the pharmacy made a screw up. Anyway went there, signed in, told why I was there, was told to take a seat. Saw people come in with sore throat, another with a cut lip, etc . There was nothing major going on. After three hours of sitting their I asked to see someone again.
She got a nurse and the nurse put me in one of the rooms in the ER.
Another two hours pass.
Doctors are at the nurses station laughing, talk about their weekend, etc.
I ask when I will be seen. Waited another 2 hours. A new doctor comes on shift. He comes right away to see me, ask me what I am out of, and says ok, I'll get this written up and you can be on your way.

Another hour later, still no script. I ask what is going on. The nurse tells me , just a minute. Another hour passes. I finally get the piece of paper.

All total out of 9 hours. I spent an actual 11 minutes talking to a actual doctor/nurse.

Everybody knows that doctors play favorites. If you do not personally know one of the doctors (esp. in the ER or urgent care) you will be waiting for a while. If you know the right people, you are in 'n out in a flash.
