This can't be real.
I'm torn on that myself.

On the one hand, it is such delicious schadenfreude listening to him bitch about how much everything sucks everywhere (but NOT him, he's pretty fucking awesome, and it's the damn world's job to RECOGNIZE that shit!)

On the other hand, if it is trolling, it is masterfully crafted. However, this would be the long, long con.

There's a real opportunity brewing here, he could charge you locals $5 a punch or whatever. As long as it's recorded and uploaded, I'll gladly cover the cost of a punch.

Yeah, I definitely don't have the energy to apply for jobs after getting home from work! Not sure what I'm going to do.

Just wait until the mandatory OT.

I'm pretty jelly of people with stable jobs right now with low turnover. But thats just not the reality at the moment. Nobody willingly drops out of the workforce. They are broken 😉. Nobody wants to work at a place thats going out of business in a long slow decline. Thats why some people are practically relieved to be laid off.

Nation's Lower Class At Least Grateful It Not Part Of Nation's Middle Class
Despite their many struggles, the nation's lower-class individuals say they cannot imagine being as deluded and disappointed as the nation's middle class.

The unrealistic expectations and false hope they experience must be unbearable," Camden, NJ hotel clerk Allison Jacobsen told researchers, noting that while her $22,000 annual salary barely covers her rent and groceries each month, at least she doesn't operate under the flawed assumption that her situation will ever improve. "A life spent constantly stressing out over a dead-end job or struggling to pay off a fixed 30-year mortgage on a continuously depreciating three-bedroom townhouse? It's horrific."

[...]

Researchers also found that people who were once part of the nation's middle class experience a profound sense of relief upon moving down the country's socioeconomic ladder and finding themselves on the bottom rung.

"Honestly, I can't tell you how much better I feel these days," said 42-year-old former IT technician Ryan Tunnicliffe, who last April lost his job and, subsequently, his house. "Just knowing I no longer have to strive for something completely and utterly out of reach is such a load off my mind."

"I'm poor, and I'm going to stay poor," Tunnicliffe continued while staring at his $320 weekly unemployment check. "It's been very liberating."

Reached for comment, several members of the nation's upper class said they are "equally grateful" to have been spared the hardships of the middle class.

I know its the onion.. wonder when this will be trident... because its already me!

I was right about that whole not having time or energy for the job search while having a job thing btw.

I'm drained and have too little time to do a job search. Also, because I am working... I can't really find any time during the day to schedule interviews.

In terms of honest advice being new is alot more draining than being established. Give yourself like 3 months to learn the ropes before you apply to anymore jobs. You are going to be tired as the FNG because learning the ropes makes you tired. Its just how the brain works. You need R&R to learn, and changing any job is alot to learn. You'll start having more spare energy 3-6 months in if you aren't working much OT. If you are working OT forget it.

This has to be a troll.

I'd love to sit down with TridenT in person. Introduce myself and just see WTF is going on.

It's 100% obvious he doesn't even have a job. He never had a job since the start of this thread. I guarantee it.

It is amazing how the rest of us with jobs manage to find other jobs while working.

Sigh, I don't have much free time to apply for jobs these days. I'm also a bit unsure of where to apply since I applied to pretty much every place in SF that I could the last run. I'd rather go through contacts but I haven't actually made many contacts here in the bay area since I haven't been able to go out a lot. (And even then, I mostly talk to women when I am out somewhere... and not many women are software engineers unfortunately)

However, I'm going to be revising my resume today and trying to update some stuff. I'm not living in a great place right now and still don't have my stuff. That means I can't work on my projects to impress employers. (I really hate coding on a laptop)

Bay area kind of sucks... Could just be Man Jose that's getting to me though. (And the driving here is fucking miserable. I like that I can drive 77 in a 65 without being pulled over but fuck having to drive 100 miles anytime I want to do anything!)

OMG. You're either the greatest troll in the history of AT or the biggest dumbass. I'm thinking it is the latter, and not the former.

All you do is bitch and complain. You spent how many months traveling and degrading other cities, constantly singing the praises of the Bay Area, and now IT sucks too? Seriously?

You need to give zin your address so he can drop by and punch you in the face like he mentioned. I'd do it myself but I'm too far away. Maybe you should try joining the military and let them knock some sense into your head.

This. TridenT, you have NO business looking for another job right now. You have no real experience. You need to put in at least a year (and probably 2-3) before you start seriously looking.

almost all my career has been in finance/banking/insurance, so yeah, i am willing to work for pretty much anyone who will pay me more :awe:

Yea but I bet none of your interviewers were monotone. Or worse...I bet none of them had crooked teeth!

You just don't get it man.

This is what Trident should do. Write emo drama literature & books & blogs. He'd be a millionaire and buy anandtech and have the last laugh.
