Then at least have the honesty to admit "Ok, this is ours now - we take it. Too bad for you, eat sh-t and die."

At one time, when Arab countries were persistently mustering offensive military capability at their border with Israel, intimidating her, Israel had the moral superiority to do just that. But when you begin to engage in fundamentally dishonest behavior such as building residential neighborhoods and golf courses for "self-defense", you risk that moral standing.

Israel has a right to defend itself and it should do just that, not kick Palestinians out of their homes and build a golf course...for "self-defense". Funny thing is with that moral superiority...its fragile and can be lost.

I agree that Israel has pussy-footed around FAR too long. They should have just pushed them out ofter the first uprising after the 67 war.

However, they are caught in between protecting themselves from the Arabs, and trying to keep the favor of the international community. It's like balancing a stack of dishes on a toothpick. It wont last long.

How did this go from discussing whether Ves was a closet liberal to Isreal/Palestine??

And for the record Ves...your a moderate😉

<< Hmm, he didn't call you a liberal, he said you were doing something like a liberal. >>

He did not use the word "like."

It must pain you greatly to hear someone accuse me of being something other than a staunch conservative. 🙂

Yeah. Am I missing something? (And don't say that I'm missing a part of my brain because I already know that. 🙂 )

And if this stuff about Israel was directed at me, I guess I should repeat that I want Israel to abandon the settlements in West Bank and the Gaza Strip because they (the settlements) don't provide Israel with any security whatsoever. Futhermore, I don't even know why any Israeli would want to live in the one of the settlements when every night while they sleep they (the "settlers") have to worry about getting shot in the head by a sniper.

<< And to further muddle the situtation, you should know that I voted for Gore in '00. >>

You sure you voted for him? You might have accidentally voted for Buchanan.

lol...

<< I think I'm conservative when it comes to foreign policy, but I'm much more moderate with regard to domestic issues. >>

I knew it!! You are a closet Liberal!!

I'm fairly certain because I checked my ballot afterwards. I was checking for hanging and pregnant chads even before anyone knew what the heck chads were. 🙂

But if I did vote for Buchanan, please shoot me now. Buchanan is the scariest politician ever.

<< I was arguing with RGN that homosexuality is not causing this country to collapse, and out of the blue he said that I was sidestepping the logical argument in the typical liberal fashion. 😀

I find this quite humorous because I'm always being accused on here of having only conservative viewpoints (especially by gopunk). 🙂

You still have not responded to my initial comment. Wait, not the one about you being an ass. I guess it was my second comment then... :Q

How can you call it an argument, when you really are not participating? That would be side stepping the issue while ignoring the presented facts. *liberal*

Did this really deserve its own thread?

Whatever. THe whole point of the comment was, what should you care?. If someone's gay, it's not your business. If someone is a homophobe, its not your business.

<< Did this really deserve its own thread? >>

Yes because many people on here think I am as far to the right as texmaster (not that there is anything wrong with that).

Oh, and check the "EDIT" in the original post... Do you feel better now?

Ah, we agree. 😀 The very strange thing that I?ve found is that a higher percentage of Jews I talk to want Israel to leave the occupied territories compared to Christians that are asked the same questions.

Ves: True, he didn't use the word like, but he didn't call you a liberal either. He said you sidestepped the issue "in the typical liberal fashion" aka *like* a liberal.

It depends on your perspective...Here in Berkeley, people think I'm a hardcore conservative. Among Army buddies, people think I'm a hardcore liberal
