Hm? Im probably getting 3 a day in my email. Anyone else getting them? They come in a .pdf file with some lame message heading called RE:your message, or RE:your website, something like that. Anyone else getting this or is just me?

w32.netsky.k@mm

EDIT: If the system time is between 6:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2004, the PC speaker will beep in a continuous loop. Each beep will be for a random period of time, at a random frequency.

Haha, my favorite part about this worm. Excelent, imagine what that would sound like in a giant office building. 1000 computers all with a constant beep. Too bad that date already passed.

I actually got infected today:(
W32.Netsky.P@mm

I had sent an email to my self called data.zip and then the email was also data.zip.

I was not paying attention I saw the attachement of data.zip and then opened it.

Then I can see the NAV outbound mail scanner going like crazy and I pulled the plug.

I did not run the Live-up date today, But I downloaded the new defs and threw it on a USB thumb drive and then I ran the update and ran the fix tool.

Every thing seems to be OK now.

I am sending out a mass email to all thoose in my address book as soon as my main system finishes it's boot.

I feel so Stupid.

We are seeing a sudden explosion of Nachi up here too. I think Netsky disables Mcafee long enough to get re-infected.

Ya, what's up with that? I get about 3-5 a day on my yahoo account. Is there any way around that? It's only been in the last few weeks.

In the past few weeks I have cleaned so many viruses off systems here at work that somehow have been slipping in past our scanner. It's been driving me nuts. Not to mention the computer I had to do for my boss's husband which had about everything you can think of on it. This is the second time I had to get that thing in working order for him. He must click any and everything he sees. **sigh** The worst part is I have to do it for free when I could have made a lot of money off of him.

One of my home machines just got infected with Netsky.q, this was with the latest version of Norton Internet Security and dat files...which did not detect it. I only realized this because I had a slew of messages that the virus sent from my computer bounced back.

Removal instructions

Thanks Norton

I've been getting several, claiming to be from the forums of Baen.Com Bar.Baen.Com. Oddly enough, the forums died the same time I started getting these, and are apparently still down. I don't know if they got hacked, or if the problem is something else.

EDIT: Scratch that, as of this morning they're back up.

They've tapered off for me. Was getting about 5-10 a day early March but now, hardly any.
