I found one yesterday, while watching TV in the dark. It was thrashing against the monitor like a moth, I whacked it quick and chopped it in half with a PCI slot cover
One just woke me up. I kept a can of Raid in my room as a precaution, and as soon as I heard the same clicking/thrashing noise of bug+plastic, I grabbed it and went straight for the nightlight, I could see it was floating around inside there. I gassed it very quickly, and it keeled over. Since this one is unsquished, I managed to get a picture:

What the FUCK is it? It looks like a lady bug because of the spots on the wings, but it's not red. It's also much creepy crawlier looking than a lady bug. So it's not a lady bug.
Just to get it out of the way, no man card revocation is required here. I am known amongst female friends as the bug squisher, nothing is more satisfying than hearing a cockroach crunch under your fist. The only bugs I actually fear are spiders, because dangerous ones exist in FL (everywhere, fuck) and their venom + their size is a nasty thing. So yes I'm an arachnophobe, ridicule away, just help me figure out what this fucker is.
Are they growing inside my apartment? Or are they somehow getting inside. They attracted to something? My room looks like a typical nerds room, usually a bunch of empty soda cans lying around. But we take out the trash, and clean things over every week or two, so we never see any crawling critters except for the odd cockroach (only 3 since we moved in last September, I kept #3 lying there in his squashed glory as a reminder to his brethren of what happens when a cockroach makes its presence known to me), which is to be expected in an apartment and even more so in FL.
