I bought an Xbox from eBay seller cawatts34. I actually bought two from the same seller because I bid on two of his/her auctions where he was selling annother Xbox. So, I won two Xboxes from the same seller on eBay. Since I was really looking forward to getting the Xboxes, I completed eBay's Checkout through Billpoint a few minutes after the auction closed, without waiting for the seller to contact me. It has been over a week since I won the auction and emailed the seller multiple times. A few days ago, I requested the seller's phone number from eBay so that I could call him/her. Today, I had my dad call the phone number, and the phone number didn't work. I sent an email to eBay's customer support, so hopefully I will get a response. Anyone know what I should do about this?

This may sound a little rude, but:

IN THE FUTURE, DO **NOT** BUY A "BIG TICKET" ITEM LIKE THIS FROM ANYONE WITH ZERO FEEDBACK!!!!!!

You're just asking for trouble. It's ok to buy CDs, DVD's, maybe even a $50 printer... but not a $300 xbox... which have already had hundreds of fake and bogus auctions.

Sorry for the harshness... but you had to learn the hard way, unfortunately. ;)

Billpoint has some kind of fraud protection, doesn't it?

You would think since it's part of eBay.....?

"Under the eBay Fraud Protection Program, most items on eBay are covered for up to $200 (minus $25 of the item price)"

However..."Every eBay buyer in good standing is covered at no charge under the terms of the program." Since he has ne good reviews he is not in good standing.

Best thing to do is dispute it with your credit card that you are using.

See, if I knew what billpoint was I wouldn't have had to make that entirely pointless remark :p

Also, contact the winners of the other xbox auctions that he had..band together and see what you can learn about this guy from the others.

Yeah, I think that my dad is just going to have his credit card company not pay for the Billpoint payment.

DONT EVER BID ON HYPED UP STUFF THATS EXPENSIVE AND THE SELLER HAS NO FEEBACK AND HE SELS SEVERAL OF EM!!!!!

All you gotta do is tell your dad to dispute the cc charges. And then send that billpoint stuff, if youre luck you make money :)

how come you didnt wait to hear from him first? or Email him first with questions..

I normally do that, if they dont respond within 3 days (cause it tells the parties should respond within 3 days or so).. and then petition to retract my bid.

You unfortunately paid him before he even sent you an email.. he has got what he wants.. and is on the run. I doubt if he is going to reply back.
