Yeah, I'm pretty confident that the disc would have worked fine (assuming that there would have been a key inside had I opened it) but the rub for me was that they told me over the phone that it was going to be the Windows OEM not some dell disc in a paper sleeve and the other thing is that I really couldn't stomach giving them $80 for something that was never meant for resale.

I got my new copy installed today and all is well......will be even better if I get most of my $80 back ;P

People seems to think that every one that sells something computer related is a computer Enthusiasts with computer knowledge and ties to the Industry.

In reality thousands of online stores are just small peddlers that buy inexpensive stuff on auction left overs, stuff that might pass already few hands after it was release by the original manufacturer.

Most of these pedlers do not even know waht exactly they bought. They copy part of the verbiage that is on the packaging of the item onto a web page and sell the product.

There is always a risk buying from these dealers you can not ask Dell MS or any other else to make personal amend to protect or whatever the consumers for every "Shady" dealer on the Internet.

Some of these dealers are not even in the USA they find someone (usually an innocent computer ignorant relative) that warehouses and deliver the item in the USA but the actual business (and sometime the original purchase are Not even USA based.

Some knowledge is needed by a consumer to know what to buy, Or Not, from these dealers.

One thing that for sure you do not buy this way any product that its main asset is Not something tangible but rather Lic., permission, etc.
