It seems the main difference between the K and non K version is obviously the unlocked multiplier, but also these features, Intel SIPP, Intel vPro, Intel VT-d, and Intel TXT.

Are these useful, not useful, potential hindrance?

I have no use for the disabled features so it's irrelevant that they're disabled.

vPro and SIPP is business only. TXT is also mainly business, for example bitlocker. VT-D is I/O virtualization. Basicly something nobody uses, including the enterprise. VT-D requires TXT.

vt-d is useful for running VMs. Which some power users do use [or need].

It would be very certain VMs. Plus I dont think any consumer virtualization software supports VT-D. And in the enterprise it aint used either for regular virtualization. I would even say VT-C is more important than VT-D.

Hyper-V for example doesnt support VT-D either.
