itx motherboard in mATX case?

The ITX specification is based off of ATX specification. I have a mini ITX board in an ATX case right now. So it will work fine.

Yup, at least the first four (sort of a square block) mounting holes starting from the upper left (viewed as in Pic 8 of the Egg's photo gallery of that case) should be to the same spec as mATX or ATX. So, as long as your mobo comes with an I/O shield to fit a standard case opening, all should be well. Extra support can be made from the old-school plastic standoffs.
