iTunes with 192 KHz DACS = static?

I got a card with the Wolfson WM8728 (2 channel, 24-bit, 192khz) DACs - when I route the audio through it, the quality is AWFUL when played through iTunes but sounds really good through Winamp. It's obviously a software issue, is there anything I can do to make iTunes sound acceptable?

Do you have Sound Enhancer and/or Sound Check enabled?

Try playing with the volume levels. Lower your software volume and turn up the volume on your speaker amp. See if that reduces the distortion.

Your EQ set really high in itunes? If so flatten it & see how it sounds. As I mentioned in the OT thread, consider Foobar. Itunes is the AOL of music players and so it's not surprising you're having problems with it...
