PC user here, the Zune software hosed my mp3 tags pretty bad. I worked on them, and ended up wiping and resyncing my Touch. Some of the songs still didn't have the embedded art or proper tags. So I updated them in iTunes and tried re-syncing (I sync manually) nothing. I Googled this but got no help. Is there a way to make iTunes re-sync songs with updated id3 tags? In the future if I make changes to an mp3s tags I'd like to be able to have my Touch automatically updated with the changes.

I know that when I used Songbird on my PC, it changed all of my music's artwork from the iTunes high resolution to a terrible 200x200 pixel artwork. When it did that, iTunes updated my iPod Touch with all of the new artwork it found that was embedded in the ID3 tag instead of using their cache. After the debacle, iTunes even showed in the update progress meter that it was only on song ## out of #### so it really did update them all. I'm not sure why your's isn't.

Unrelated/kind of related.

Is there a way to have iTunes automatically add the artwork to the ID3 tag instead of me having to go to ever album and selecting all the songs and pasting the artwork in there? When I take the songs anywhere else, the artwork is not there, and it annoys me so much. Also, it makes my Music folder look tacky. I have several folders where the album is the art, but I have hundreds which just have the standard music/sound icon. It annoys me.

well I figured it out, if you have it automatically sync it updates any changes, I didn't want to auto sync as I have too much music, but I saw the option to sync only playlists I tell it. dlock13 asks a good question, in iTunes everything looks good, but the tags not being written directly to the mp3's sucks. I believe Version 6 and previous of iTunes wrote to the mp3 directly, but they changed this. It's an annoying process, one Apple could probably correct with a 20 second patch.

No, I'm talking about embedding the album art, which it use to do but for whatever reason no longer does. dlock13 was asking about the embedded art, not the tag info.

Auto Sync doesn't wipe your iPod and reload everything, it keeps track of only what you've changed and updates that. It's actually quite fast. Unless it's different on Windows.
