iTunes Music Store FINALLY coming to Canada

Eug

Well, it's finally gonna be here on Tuesday. I'll buy some stuff, but mostly it's still gonna be real CDs for me. I'll encode my own AAC. However, my nephew is gonna get some iTMS gift certificates for Xmas.

It took them long enough to come to Canada though...

99 cents Canadian. (That's about 2.7 cents US right now.)

Fixed 😉
The US dollar is in the gutter at the moment (comparatively). It's lost ground against the Japanese Yen, British Pound, Canadian Dollar, the Euro, and the list goes on.

allofmp3 > itunes anyways

not really.

I used to be the biggest bitch when it came to audio quality, but I finally realized that most of the stuff I listen to anyways doesn't need to be encoded @660kps lossless or whatever.

While I admit I use itunes, I still love lossless at home, and it is never questioned when it comes to classical music.

Classical lossless or bust😀

I'd never pay full price for lossily-encoded music, especially music that I couldn't play on any player but an ipod, especially music that I'd have to install malware to purchase... but .. congratulations? 😕

1. lossy matters when it comes to brum and bass or techno driving music?

2. Ipod? Lets not go there. YEs, wma give you more choices, but lets not go there...too long.

3. malware.....heh..walmart.com is practically the only online music distrobutor that DOESN't require software.

4. It is all subjective anyways. You have yours and I have mine.

Mine is that, provided you use CDs or an ipod, itunes offers a fantastic slection for types of music where lossless isn;t as important. Of course, it is not an option for classical.

In truth, I wouldn't buy much for myself either from iTunes, since I prefer to have the original CD and to encode at 192 kbps AAC, but it is certainly convenient to have the iTMS at your fingers for hard to get stuff and certain singles, etc.

It's also good for Xmas gift certificates, esp. for younger kids.

EDIT:

BTW, just what is the legality of allofmp3.com in North America anyways? My impression was that although it's not quite legal, it's not quite illegal either. 😛
