Itunes - moving folder

I have an 80gb SSD as my C drive. It is filling up fast so I wanted to save about 6 gigs of space and move the itunes folder to my E drive. I used the directions on apple's website http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1364 but it's not working. It moved the files to my E drive itunes folder that I created, but when I open itunes and click on Music under library it doesn't show my music. Going to Edit - Advanced shows that the E drive folder is where it's supposed to look but nothing is showing up.

If I go to the Devices menu on the left and select the Music tab, the sync music is unchecked. If I check it, it says that it wants to sync it w/ my device, but since there is nothing in the itunes folder it will erase my device. What am I doing wrong still?

Did you actually move the iTunes folder? If you just moved it in iTunes it just relocates the Library file and not the actual content.

You should be able to move the iTunes folder where you want, then open iTunes and choose that new location where your library now resides.

I didn't move the folder, using the directions in the link I had the program copy it all over to E drive. I figured since it did that once I opened I tunes it would list my music/apps/etc inside itunes, but that's not happening.

Right, but did you check to make sure the files are actually moved over to the E: drive?

If you have pointed iTunes to the E drive, then you can move the contents of your iTunes folder on C to that location on E, exit iTunes, relaunch and everything should be ok.

Yes, the E drive shows 5+ GB in the podcast folder, 2+ in the music, etc.

Unfortunately while it still shows as looking to the E drive, restarting it has had no effect.

That is how i have moved iTunes libraries in the past. One minute, the folder is empty. Point iTunes to it. Quit iTunes. Move all my iTunes stuff. Relaunch iTunes. Boom.

In fact, try doing that, start from scratch.
