iTunes itl database file damaged

I started up iTunes and a message popped up stating the iTunes 4 Music Library Database had become damaged. A new file was created in its place and now 90% of my library and playlists have disappeared.

Is there a way to recover the damaged file and restore my music library or do I have go through all my songs and add them one by one?

I never got this problem using a file manager to manage my music and WinAmp/Foobar to play it... Wonder what the "it00nz is purfekt d00d" crowd would have to say about this? 😉

Hopefully a solution to my problem.
