So i had my friends ipod plugged in to the computer. IT was showing his Ipod, name and all with no problem. I did the safely remove hardware feature from windows and removed his ipod. No problem right? everything still running smooth. Until we look at his ipod, it had ZERO songs on it, somehow they all got erased. So i laughed at him of course. But he got the last laugh because i proceded to plug my ipod into the same computer, only to have MY ipod be completely erased and become a clone of what his ipod was. Thats right it erased both our ipods and somehow cloned mine to be one of his. I hate this junk. Im pissed, i just reformatted my ipod and will have to reload all that crap again. aaaa.

cliffs:

1. plug in friends ipod.
2. unplug it.
3. ipod erased.
4. plug in my ipod.
5. becomes clone of friends ipod.

Happened to me before. I learned the hard way that you have to set itunes to manual mode. :|

One thing about iTunes... it's configuration options and behavior are clunky as hell. I really don't like it. And the one-way ipod synchronization is just utterly retarded.

Definitely PEBKAC.

Yeah, cause it's his fault that iTunes erased his iPod when he was using it like it was meant to be used.

It's one of those ID10T errors... tell that to a retail customer. They'll agree.

Wait, do they eat the kangaroos after they themselves have copulated, or the kangaroos?

Well, in West Virginia...

RTFM. It says exactly what it's going to do.

I recall seeing this issue on a forum before, it's usually under the iD10T error code.

Get the iPod.
Based on this thread, it looks like scottish should opt for the Zen Vision M, since it can use simple Windows Explorer drag & drop, with no manual reading required!

I've done that before. Ignore these fanboys, automatic one way synchronization as default is retarded. Nothing else works in that manner.
