iTunes Alternatives - Need something that can speed up playback

Also needs a playlist of sorts...

I've used some applescripts that stop playback in iTunes and load the file in Quicktime at a faster speed, but this is too clunky a solution for what i need it for.

Do any of those work in OS X? Since he was talking about applescript... tht means OS X.

check out the respective sites and see if foobar and songbird are available

songbird can't speed up playback afaict, downloaded it and dont see an option

also, dosen't seem like foobar is an option for OSX

dude check out AU Lab on the developer tools install that came with your mac it does everything in real time thanks to core audio.
google on how to use it to play back audio. will not pitch shift unless you want it to and its free!!!

AU Lab is a bit too "developer" for my tastes and for what I need accomplished. I just need a simple mp3 player that supports a playlist and playback speed adjustment.

Its kinda sad but i'm now using Windows Media Player via Parallels to get this done.
