Its too boxy. I kind of like the playlist side panel and how it looks like the the new mail.app in tiger, but only by itself. It doesnt mix well with the striped area.

the main title area really sucks.

Holy crap....This thing is so terribly buggy it makes me want to kick steve jobless in the junk.

The worse just keeps on getting worserest of them all.

ps - I know that they're trying to be as "cool" as wmp's mini-player with their iTunes mini-toolbar...but if I was apple, I would have at least tested my software before I distributed it...Try enabling this toolbar by right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting iTunes from the toolbar menu and then minimizing iTunes. Can YOU control your music? Because I sure as hell can't. In fact, I can't even reopen itunes after I minimize it to this player...and if I just close the player, my music continues to play w/no way of getting iTunes back up. PRAISE THE LORD for the Winamp ipod plugin.

Dear Apple, please stick to what you now do best: mp3 players.

EDIT: Oh, and let me add this...

Mem Usage while playing the same song:
iTunes - 41,000
Windows Media Player - 10,500

Have they added the feature of being able to drag and drop music directly without having to touch iTunes? :p

The feature list didn't indicate anything about getting out of the stone age and supporting more than 2 formats, so obviously Apple doesn't give a damn about convincing anyone who knows better to use iTunes.

(The rest of the app and its awfulness is indicative of that, too...)

Yep, they really need to support multiple formats now. And reduce the sluggish feel of iTunes when compared to WMP or Winamp

now maybe i'm just stupid (which could be the case)...but I assume he is talking about dragging and dropping mp3s onto the ipod w/o touching itunes.

This is coming from someone who has never operated an ipod, nor have i ever used itunes. I'd like to keep it that way, too...

...and with this pathetic software, it looks like apple wants to keep it that way, as well

I hate all programs that don't use the standard Windows theme for toolbars. iTunes is the worst, too.

I can't get it to install. I am running XP SP2, and every time I download it and try to install, it says some installation files are corrupted, and tells me to try downloading a fresh copy (which I have now done no fewer than 3 times).

I notice they still haven't fixed how ITunes interferes with sending attachments in MS Office/Outlook.

Try it.

With Itunes open go to word or excel and click file -> send to -> mail recipient (as attachment).
A new outlook message comes but you can click the send button all day long and it just sits there.
Close ITunes and it works perfectly.

one word: ourTunes

if you're connected to a network, and people have iTunes running, you can view their music archive right? well, apple doesn't support file sharing, per say, you can listen to them but not download them. Here's where ourTunes comes in. It scans and lists ALL music on the itunes network you're on and allows you to download any song you want at LAN speed. plus, no maximum download amount. I selected an entire archive of ~5gig and it was downloaded within hours.

and yes you can do this over your shared folder, but if the admin blocks file sharing, ourTunes won't be affected. not sure if winamp has filesharing, havent used it in a while

Randezvous is the only reason to ever have iTunes installed, but that doesn't make it a good program.
