I did consider putting something like "slept at that hotel chain" above them in the ranking :)

That was found in one of the topics I found when I did my search....

I know no one here would hire from there....but would your idiot bosses?

Is it even remotely worth it getting a deggree from there? Has anyone here ever taken classes there? Just curious....I mean, is it possible to know thy sh|t going to school there, or do they just suck completely?

And, I certainly am not expecting a good IT (read: some job playing with computers and electronics all the live-long day) job right away....just a foot in the door.

Otherwise does anyone have recommendations for those tests and certifications that are available? Especially since they always then get knocked for just being "paper."

Basically, what's the best way to gt into the field nowadays, assuming one has some mediocre college education already and probably is roughly starting from scratch on his schooling (i.e. don't expect a Bachelor's degree)?

Let's just say I didn't do much homework back in my college years. But I did learn a lot about alcohol :D

If I was hiring, I'd look at an associate degree fom Joe Schmoe Community College just as highly as anything you could get from ITT tech.

And the last poll...well, bite me. Up at 6ish Sunday...bed at 1 am monday....up at 3:30am monday...still up...*calculating*..39.5 total hours...2.5 hours of sleep....36 out of 39 hours awake....kind of loopy.

Think I need an early bedtime tonight.

And edit: Alright, who voted I'm a retard?!?!?

:p

A foot in the door in IT these days requires a bachelor's and about 15 different certifications - and even by then, most of the hires don't know Windows from Solaris.

Sigh...I'm not dumb...just pretty much blew my chance at getting a degree when I had the scholarships the first time. Now I'm married and have all the bills etc., of adult life, and kind of screwed it appears.

So...basically, I should be a plumber?

Yes.

Sweet. Anyone know how to become a plumber/electrician?

Oh, wait, a friend of mine said she thinks I could probably be a nuclear reactor technician without a degree (encouraging, huh?).

There was a pretty funny thread where ManSnake posted a problem, then the very next post was ManSnake quoting himself and providing an answer. Everyone gave him crap about forgetting to sign into his other account, someone started a poll about how many accounts everyone had, and someone dug up an old thread where ManSnake signed his post -M4H as proof that ManSnake==M4H. There was a brief period where everyone was signing their posts =M4H.

Nope, Cisco is Cisco. Show up with the certificate, you're set. It's the damned degrees that matter where you did the shit.
