January Valdez snowstorm
Location: Valdez, AK 01/06/2012

Heavy snow pounded Valdez on January 6, 2012, after the town received 19.2 inches Thursday from the Prince William Sound blizzard, making for a season total of more than 20 feet. Meanwhile, Nome is having its worst cold spell since 1989.

Same here. Next to zero snow so far, Christmas day was brown, sunny and birds were chirping.
I thought I was in the midwest?! It should be -10F or so here, WTF is this 60F high bullsh*t?!

I think it's dropped below 10c (50f) here maybe 2 days in the last 2 months, and that includes overnight, in the English channel.

My favorite winter I can ever recall. We did have a crazy snowfall and cold snap in October but since then it's been warm. I love it.

Almost 80 here in C Florida. VERY warm for this time of year ... but few are complaining.

A lot of idiots have their A/C on ...

Idiots? I have my A/C on ~75F because there's no breeze around my house and it keeps it from feeling stuffy inside.

Very odd here in IL. I'm leaving here in March for Oregon and have yet to see the awful Chicago weather. People were warning me by early December, 4 feet would have fallen. More like 4" so far. I'm on the lake too!

I pray it's going to be good here and across the country by March!

Our weather has been super sporadic this year, yet again. We only started getting our snow dumps a few weeks ago. We already had about a foot on the ground, but still very low for December. Temperature wise it's been all over the map. I don't know whether or not to plug my car in anymore so I just plug it every night. One day it can be -5 and the other day it can be -30, and then go to +1. I'm hoping it stabilizes a bit, I hate when it fluctuates so much.

I fucking hate this weather. All during the disgusting summer months, when I'm sweltering just by sitting in the shade, I long for a walk in the crisp winter air, or a good day on the ski slopes. Now we're here in January, and that asshole summer has not relinquished its grip. I wanted to have at least 2 ski trips in before the end of December. But noooooo, all of you people are just encouraging Mother Nature to ruin my winter plans. Thanks for nothing.

Fucking Steelers, what the hell are you doing???

Its January ... it's beautiful outside ... have your A/C on under these conditions?

just stupid ...

Just finished playing 18 holes in a tee-shirt and sunglasses...can't remember the last time I was able to do that in a pacific north west January

I really hope this isn't a GW trend. We have trees around here that are in risk of dying because they lost their leaves during the cold snaps, and now are confused and rebudding. My grass is still green too, which is strange for this time of year.

Last year in NY it was bitter cold and we got snow dumped on us regularly. I think the year before that or 3 years ago we had a winter like we are having now and then right at the end we got pounded.

It's been "mild" here in Toronto. Hovering around freezing. No significant snowfall. What we got is melted already. I don't mind having a dry winter. However, the snow belt regions have been getting dumped on.

It was a bit cold today but still shorts weather, great for hiking.

according to weather.com, the ny area has less than 30% chance of seeing snow for the remainder of January. i'm not complaining.
