It's tough to be punctual in this world

It must be nice to drift through life with little regard for timelines and have other people make sure things happen at necessary times. It must also be nice to always be the person being waited on instead of the person waiting

Nothing like watching an E-7 get hemmed up by a chair force captain because he can't figure out what goddamn time he's supposed to be at a meeting, followed by him getting hemmed up again for being unprepared.

My daughter had a high school bad director that I could not stand, but he did have one good saying.

Early is on time
On time is late
Late is unacceptable

Life is too short to waste it waiting on somebody who clearly doesn't value someone else's time. Without knowing anything about the situation, I'd just leave if I were you.

If you're not at least 15 minutes early. YOU'RE LATE!

Some people just don't get that.
Great, so I can spend more time waiting around for the other people that are always late!
NOPE.
You want me there 15 minutes early, you should have told me to be there 15 minutes earlier. Otherwise I'm going to figure since you went through the effort of specifying a time, that's the time you meant, and that's when I'll be there.

An old gf had friends who were all chronically and extremely late for everything. So when there was a party or other engagement, she would give them all different start times based on their individual level of tardiness. I always thought that was pretty amusing.

I always aim for being early. The farther I have to go, the more time I allow. I always have something to occupy myself with.
