Gore is right on when it comes to the environment. The government needs to step forward and get new pollution free cars on the road.

He seems to care more about the environment abroad than at home. I could care less the Japanese are "killing us on this issue".

Then why have fuel emissions standards in the last 8 years gotten worse?

SlapHow do you propose to charge electric cars when we cannot guarantee electric power for home use now? The same idiots that want alternate fuels are the same idiots that oppose nuclear power....which Japan and France have used extensively.

Red, yeah I will give Bush slight credit for knowing what burdens belong to the states. Gore seems to think the federal government can handle everything, from racial profiling to pollution to education. This is not the amercia I want to see.

Tominator,

First off when you say idiots I hope you aren't referring to me. I never said electric cars. I think we should push more towards hydrogen and natural gas (although not completely pollution free) powered cars. As far as Nuclear power, we have no problems with it here in Tennessee. The TVA has an abundant supply of electrictiy with the use of all forms of power production including Nuclear.

The biggest exageration of the night is the value of this debate. Some better questions at the end here but a lot of wasted airtime, too much agreement, and no alternate voice. Damn as nutty has Buchanan and Vader are, I can't help but think my fellow americans need to hear their stances on issues that most people care about. Harry Browne might be the best countersink to these big government/status quo robots.

Bush's tax cuts are less that a tenth of what Reagan got....and those led to more Government revenue.

No questions on campaign finance reform or soft money. No questions the marriage tax penalty, death/estate taxes, internet taxation, hell tax policy in general. No questions about how Greenspan prefers to see the surplus used to pay off the debt and why these nuts aren't following his advice. No questions about violence in the media. Total whiff on social security. Jeez, Jim Lehrerere gets an F! :|

Tripleshot,

I'm not certain if america won tonight, and that's what matters to me.

As for Bush, he didn't stumble much, sounded better in the end than at the beginning, and only snorted a handfull of times tonight. But he mentioned "freedom" a few times. Hurrraay!!

Gore agreed far too much with Bush. And where did the sighs, interruptions and condiscention go? He totally changed war tactics. Another flop? He did poke at Bush's record in TX, that's a plus. He did seem more credible in foreign policy near the beginning.

I think they both nullified each other, which is the intent of these debates, if not to draw in undecided votes which nobody did tonight thanks to Jim "Pussy Question" Lehererere.

<< This debate was lame. >>

I thought so to. Too bad it wasn't as good as the VP debate.

Actually at first Gore stumbled pretty much as Bush, and then later gathered his politician slef back together for the most part. I thought Gore was at his best when attacking Bush on Texas, as if that was what he really prepared for.

Bush was at his best when talking about education of the nations children, whether he prepped for it, or really feels it is up for debate.

Bush by far delivered the best closing argument for those people still awake past the laborius foreign policy discussion. They agreed too much to call it a debate.

I'm talking about their speaking, not their beliefs when I say "at their best".

<Gore agreed far too much with Bush. And where did the sighs, interruptions and condiscention go? He totally changed war tactics. Another flop? He did poke at Bush's record in TX, that's a plus. He did seem more credible in foreign policy near the beginning.>

With Gore, I will always doubt if he agrees with Bush becuase he does agree, or if because he sees and issue that will give him votes, votes he hopes to steal from Bush by blurring the lines between he and Bush.

Got to admit that the "Mafia look" sure suited Bore. Best impression he's done yet of a real person. Unfortunately - probably NOT the one who should sit in the oval office....

sigh :(

I might as well put my vote in for Harry Browne and the libertarian party. At least they take a stance on something instead of just agreeing to smooth themselves over.

I'd rather put my vote in for someone who stands no chance, but represents what I want, than one of these two puppets that have accomplished zip in these debates.
