It's time to retire from using a cell phone

Today I came to realize my cell phone is useless.

Cliffs
1) A majority of my calls are not important. Mostly questions I'm not able to answer at the moment.
2) I have a number I can be reached at from 12-5.
3) I found that if I return all my calls at 5pm I can get them done in half an hour. It could take hours otherwise.
4) I don't care if my friends can't call me. I'll call them when I want to do something.

Why did I get a cellphone in the first place? I was brainwashed into thinking I couldn't live without one. 30 months later, I'm calling bullsht. I can't just drop my cellphone right now because too many people are used to using it, but it will be phased out over the next couple months.

I know for some people a cell phone is a social godsend, but for work I'm telling you: It's useless.

I can't stand people that have a cell phone but never answer it. It's either shut off, on the nightstand, on silent, or they ignore it. Grrrr....

the most annoying thing about going without cell phone is that because of cell phones people don't care what area code their phone number is since long distance is free. but if you go back to landline, it'll cost you everytime you call them

My wife and I recently got rid of our cell phones.

We only miss it right after work when we'd try to figure out dinner, who's picking up the kid, etc.

Other than that half hour or so...we don't miss them one bit.

Vonage. Or one of the one rate plans from a phone company.

but then you start to approach the cost of a cell phone, so might as well get that for portability too

I find it a wonderful creation for a couple of reasons:

1) NO ONE AT WORK HAS MY NUMBER 🙂
2) It the same price to have a family plan that it is to have a land line w/ long distance
3) It's portable so emergencies are much easier to handle
4) it's SOOO much easier and more believable to say "I did not hear/feel it ring" with a cell then it is with a landline 😉

I don't have a landline at all. I have a cell that I pay 12 cents a minute for. It's cheaper than a landline would be for the few minutes I use.

My having a cell phone has prevented the loss of thousands in revenue so I think I'll hang on to it.

I'm never home so that's why I have to use a cell phone. and if Im at work id rather friends call me on my cell than work phone so I can pick up only when I'm not busy

I keep one around cause I don't have a landline and am usually away from home during the weekends. Plus I dont have to remember any phone numbers, and can tell who is calling, either by number or ring tone.

Plus its easier to make excuses for why I didn't pick up the phone.

I pay $9.99 + tax a month for 2,000 anytime minutes and a bunch of other features I dont use.... but its convenient, and if someone calls I dont want to talk to.....

ok here is the big secret....

Let it go to voicemail 😉

How so? For me I feel if I could account for the loss in efficiency the opposite would be true.

I use it to tell time

It use to do that. It drove my girlfriend up the wall as I would be asking here what time it was when I left my phone at home. Now I wear this thing called a watch. 😉
