my HIDs flood the street with beautiful light. driving with standard halogen is like lighting by candle. what about truck and suv drivers with ****** halogen that blinds but does not light the road?

As for vision, the output of true HID lights is slightly greater in terms of lumens. Color temp has nothing to do with it; they simply put out more lumens. Period. They also manage that at 30-35 watts as opposed to the 55-60 watts of halogen bulbs and manage to last many times longer than traditional halogen bulbs. Properly aligned, they do NOT damage anyone's night vision.

(DISCLAIMER: I do not own a car that has HID lights.)

ZV

We are not talking about the same thing. Sure they have more lumens, but we see best in sunlight. I.E the full spectrum of light. These HID's put out less of the spectrum than conventional bulbs do because of their temperatures.

Flood the street? You do realize that the bulb on the left is supposed to be angled away from on coming traffic.

That is another problem...people readjust their bulbs so they cover the whole road, not just their lane. Idiots.

wtf?

Either you guys drive cars where you can't see this being an issue at all, or you just choose to not acknowledge it.

I drive an Accord (stock height/suspension if it matters) and I've noticed this issue quite a bit, I hate it. Even if it isn't foggy, and is just dark outside, it can make it hard to see. In many of these situations, it's just a matter of chance that you don't hit anyone or anything.

Also, when these cars with HID's hit a bump behind you, their lights point higher and so to you, it'll feel like they just hit their brights for a second.

HID's are for children in their crappy cars who think brighter lights automatically make them great and old people who can't see. HID's are ranked just below floor mats in actually meaning anything in a vehicle.

I voted no, but I don't have HIDs. That bluish light actually bothers me less than the normal yellow light does usually.

suvs...gah, i hate those shining into my eyes or even when they are close behind and shining through my rear window because so many are jackass drivers and tailgate.

as for bad vision, i guess we should try a flash bang on you sometime and see if your good vision makes up for blinding light.

Umm no stop talking out of your ass. I was not banned recently, and I do not plan to ever get banned. Sorry if you do not agree with me, but that is no reason to call for a ban. In fact, it is you with the mentality that is not needed here. Sorry if you cannot inteligently discuss a topic like the rest of us are...

If we're going to go this route, what about trucks and SUVs? They are definitely more offensive to my eyes at night than HIDs. Not too far off from being brighted.

I think you're better off banning night time - it makes it far harder to see than HIDs do.
