So, what do you think? Any kind of feedback is welcome. If you think there are better parts out there, tell me about it 🙂

Looks really good! Think about the 3000+ or 3200+ and save a lil $$. Do you need 2GB of RAM? Maybe save even enough to go up to the 6800gt pci-e. They all oc to 3800+ speeds easily and with great cooling can hit 2.6/2.7

I figured i needed 2gb of ram for two reasons. First, this ram is both good and cheap, and I'd rather buy 2gb now and be 100% sure of getting the same sticks so there won't be any dual channel problems. Second, on the qualified venodrs list for this mobo at asus.com it actually says that the mobo does notsupport 2 sticks in dual channel, but it does support 4 sticks in dual dual channel.

About the graphics, is it really worth getting the 6800gt/ultra today? I'm going to game quite a bit, but Im pretty sure that the 6600gt will hold out for quite a while.. Or do you think I'm wrong here? I figured its a better choice to go with the 6600gt also because of the huge price diffrence. For me it actually feels like the best product out there if you look at price vs prestanda. Plus it seems like its really hard to get anything above 6600gt pci-e here in Sweden were I live :/

A question though.. What do you think of the brand, leadtek? I havent been able to find any good brand comparisons on the net. What im thinking about is the fan noice/efficiency and such. Leadtek is the cheapest of the cards I get to pick from so thats why I chosed it but maybe its worth putting out a little more on an asus?

Last but not least, the 3000 and 3200 is only avalible in winchester, which the company I'm buying from can't get their hands on. It really sucks, because what I'd really like is a 3500+ winchester. But I think I'm gonna be cool with the 130nm newcastle since I have the zalman cpu-cooler... Or? 😉

Having over 1Gb of ram might slow down things, I'm 100% sure this happens with Athlon socket A systems and intel based systems but I'm not sure about athlon 64 systems (if you guys want, you can clarify this). I think the ram will default to DDR 333 specs which is a big performance hit in my opinion. I don't have any AMD 64 systems so my information is not 100% guaranteed. Agian if anybody wants, please clarify this.

You mean memory wise?

And if there aint much diffrence between 1gb and 2gb either right now, don't you think that will change over some time?

RAM is the easiest thing to add to your computer. I wouldn't waste all the money and stability for getting 4 DIMM's 2 Gig's of RAM. I haven't heard anybody with difficulties running dual channel with only 2 slots being used.

Aye I am thinking about that... But it looks like i would have to wait at least 1 ½ month for it to come into stock. And 2x512 mb of this ram is about 180 USD, while the 6800 is about 740 USD compared to the 6600gt which is about 250USD. So even if I pick 1gb insted of 2gb its still alot of extra money. And seriously, dont you think the 6600gt will hold out for quite a while? Its easy to upgrade =)

And I dont wanna wait! =)

Honestly, I would drop the extra gig of ram and go with the faster video card. The thing about waiting is that you might end up stuck in the techno-ring and will be waiting for the next generation tech. And $740 for a video card is insane. So just wait for it to come in stock and prices to drop, or go with the 6600 GT. Just know that the 6600 GT is considerably slower than the 6800 GT, especially when turning on 8x AA and 16x AF in high resolutions.
