Had anyone seen any recent budget PC reviews? Cant seem to find any among the usual sites.

I built one in Jan on a M2N-Deluxe with a 4000+, that clocked up to 2.5 nicely and is doing stirling service but I need to add another in the next day or so.

Looking at vendors, budget X2s are still cheap but I see the low end c2ds coming down so I might be tempted to stray to the darkside for a good chip/mobo combo, just im out of touch on c2d mobo ranges atm, intel mobos tend to be more pricey.

It has to do grunt work, 100% cpu, want low power chipset (eg M2N deluxe has no southbridge), just needs onboard graphics and will get 3 gig ram whatever. I will overclock it for greater budget savings (but not to screaming point, heat is an issue too) and I prefer asus mobos but might stray for a stable one, so if anyones got any suggestions then feel free.

cheers guys

This Asus P5K Pro is a very nice board, but it doesn't have onboard video. This P5E-VM does have onboard video, but is a Micro ATX, not full ATX like the P5K Pro.

And I'd probably recommend that you buy an E7200, if not an E8400, if a 2.5 Ghz X2 isn't fast enough for you.

I don't think you are going to find any decent ATX motherboards with onbaord video, You had the exact same thought as me P5E-VM HDMI with an E7200. The board is not the cheapest around but if the best OC'ing board with onboard video that you are going to find(for intel)
