Dvorak:
You reached 361 points, so you achieved position 3030 on the ranking list

You type 493 characters per minute
You have 85 correct words and
you have 4 wrong words

Qwerty:
You reached 331 points, so you achieved position 5499 on the ranking list

You type 450 characters per minute
You have 81 correct words and
you have 3 wrong words

My Qwerty speed would go up if I practiced before I started. I've been 90% dvorak for probably a year or so now... If you're contemplating switching, it really is easy enough to switch back and forth. Just my "feeling", but dvorak feels much more balanced/home-row centric compared to qwerty, which has kind of a left-hand up-and-down feel to it when I type it now.

<- Another happy Ergo 4000 user.

Maybe someday they'll make a typing test that doesn't highlight or change the color of the "current" word being typed, as it does nothing but distract the typist. Anyone who can type well will never be looking at the word as they're typing it, instead they have a buffer, reading a couple words ahead of their fingers.

I'm guessing the scores occupying the ranking spots 1-80 are "hacked" scores. So subtract 100 from your rank to make it more practical.

I probably could have been very slightly faster, for some reason I'd hang up between pages.. But still and all I'm not disappointed with my results.

THANK YOU MAVIS BEACON!

Wow, I fail. I started typing the "Here you can test how fast you are. Just type in the words. Are you faster than all the others? A nice side effect: these are the most used english words. Every time you try to beat the score, you improve your typing speed :)" intro section. Never even saw the BIG FREAKING letters right below it.

So, once I passed the accidental IQ test with colors which are thoroughly grounded, and not even close to flying, I got:

389 points
490 characters per minute
90 correct words
0 wrong words

I guess it doesn't factor in the backspace key, cause I used it quite frequently. My "read ahead optimization" doesn't quite synchronize properly. I'll start to type the next word before I'm done with the first one. It's all lag, that's all. Damn laggy nerves and muscles. :)
I do wish I could type faster. I've timed my speaking speed to be 180-200WPM. I think I'll need to make a deal with the Robot Devil to acquire his hands.

Also, if you're typing 'head' and you type 'headkajsdjflsdjfslkd' it still counts it as correct. As long as it's spelled correctly at the beginning, it doesn't matter. That tripped me up at first, because I can feel when I mistype a word but they were still correct almost every time.

it's the AIM practice I'm tellin yah. Perfect for the type of words used in this test. If it were "real" typing test with punctuation, numbers, the whole shebang, scores would drop a ton

I disagree. Granted, some typing tests have a ridiculous amount of punctuation, but for the most part it's easier to type full sentences. With random words like this, I have to essentially process each word. With full grammatically-correct sentences, there are patterns and I find my brain just spits them to the keyboard without really thinking about them.
