Trips to the grocery store in the winter are always a good reminder of people's selfishness and stupidity. 2 cars parked where 4 could fit because people have no spatial awareness regarding the size of their suburbia tanks without little yellow cheater lines. Carts left in other spots because its cold outside and it would take 45 entire seconds to put it in a cart corral so just make sure the next person can't use this parking spot instead. SUVs and pickup trucks parked and idling with no one inside because, heaven forbid, the car gets a little cold while you shop. Cars parked in the firelane out front because people can't be arsed to walk to and from a parking spot so everyone else better doge them

Costco is the worst for the carts. I always bring mine back to a corral or to where the employees have already wrangled a bunch. But so many people don't and I watch them leave them in just ridiculous places.

It's fucking uncivilized

I just park in ZZ typically.

No that was deliberate. By taking up 2 spots it gives you more room.

Home Depot can be bad for that too, people will park in the pickup zone when it's raining hard in summer or if there's a snow storm so they don't have to walk through it. If you actually need to use the pickup area to actually pickup something (god forbid) then good luck navigating through all these randomly parked cars lol. I typically just bring my stuff straight to my truck anyway so it's rare I have to deal with that.

That sounds like every day of the year in my area (although you didn't list douchebags illegally parking in handicap parking spaces).

they need to have those quarter slots.
the kind of asshole who would abuse a cart is the same kind of asshole who would not give up a quarter.

Which time of year is this? Month names that include vowels? I'd like to be a parking lot enforcer. Leave your cart in the lot, and I'll break your fucking knees. Do one of those lame ass pushes towards the corral, instead of docking it properly? Bitchslapped with a blackjack since you thought you were putting in some effort. Stupid parking? Your car just got hauled off for scrap. Wouldn't take more than a week before that lot was running with military precision.

I can't stand the ones who park in the Fire Lane especially in strip malls where there's little room for 2 cars to be going in both directions. Talk about selfish.

That cart narcs guy is going to piss off the wrong person and he is going to get seriously hurt.

I do not approve of what he is doing. If he would put carts back and not confront people then maybe I would support him. It's harassment, pure and simple.

When I am king of the world, all cars larger than a Mini will be banned. Humans are wretched people.
But how will the people that commute everywhere with their washer and dryer in the vehicle get around? Or think of the people that buy one big thing from Home Depot every other year.

At least here, typical cars on the road have been getting larger, by like 20-30% over the last 40 years. Then motorists complain about not being able to find a parking space, or moan about cyclists being on the road 'taking up space'. In posh areas every vehicle you see is like some sort of monster truck, intended for off-road use. Posh urban people all like to cosplay at being farmers, for some reason.

Only someone with an exceptionally comfortable and tone deaf life would think this is any sort of appropriate policy when compact hatchbacks or crossovers provide the needed utility to accomodate more without needing a Taco or full-size truck.

P.S Minis suck with gas milage for the size.

Minis do suck for gas mileage for their size. But vehicles in the US are oversized. Car companies have done a tremendous job convincing the public to buy huge, unnecessary vehicles instead of smaller, just as capable, and more practical vehicles. (Granted, some of this has also been driven by quirks in CAFE standards, that make it easier to meet fuel economy standards for anything classified as a "light truck" compared to a compact vehicle)

The best compromise is just make all those electric and stop making gas ones. I would love an electric truck myself. While 90% of the time it's really just a grocery hauler and wasting gas for nothing, I still need it for that 10% where I'm hauling lumber, water tanks, pulling stumps or rocks out of the ground etc. So electric would be awesome for that. The current offerings are way beyond what I can afford though. Hopefully the come down over time, kinda like when a new TV technology comes out.

I can't wait to see how the F150 does, that is the most normal truck so far as far as electric goes. I think it will appeal to enough people that I may even see some here, which means I can buy them used down the line.
