A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST MONDAY.

A STEADY SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE TRI-STATE AREA FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST THIS EVENING. THE SNOW WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT AND INTO MONDAY MORNING. THERE MAY BE ENOUGH WARM AIR ALOFT FOR SLEET TO MIX IN ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT AND THE TWIN FORKS OF LONG ISLAND AT THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM... BUT FOR THE MOST PART THIS WILL BE AN ALL SNOW EVENT. THE SNOW WILL THEN TAPER OFF MONDAY AFTERNOON.

TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE FROM 4 TO 8 INCHES OVER ORANGE AND WESTERN PASSAIC COUNTIES... TO 10 TO 14 INCHES ACROSS CENTRAL LONG ISLAND AND SOUTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT. SOMEWHAT LOWER AMOUNTS ARE FORECAST ACROSS THE TWIN FORKS OF EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND SOUTHEAST CONNECTICUT DUE TO THE SNOW POSSIBLY MIXING WITH SLEET. FOR THE NEW YORK CITY METRO AREA... 8 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED.

SUSTAINED NORTH WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 30 TO OCCASIONALLY 35 MPH WILL RESULT IN BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WITH VISIBILITIES OF LESS THAN A QUARTER OF A MILE AT TIMES.

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW... SLEET... AND ICE ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.

.LOW PRESSURE ALONG THE CAROLINA COAST THIS EVENING WILL TRACK NORTHEAST... PASSING TO THE SOUTH AND EAST OF LONG ISLAND MONDAY MORNING. THE LOW WILL THEN PROCEED UP INTO THE GULF OF MAINE BY MONDAY EVENING. STRONG CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE TO THE NORTH WILL PROVIDE THE COLD AIR FOR A MAINLY SNOW EVENT... WITH SOME SLEET MIXING IN LATE TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING OVER FAR SOUTHEASTERN CONNECTICUT AND THE TWIN FORKS OF LONG ISLAND.

Winter Storm Warning for New York (manhattan), NY

I wish we were supposed to get that much in the northern tip of VA. We haven't had a really good snow in several years.

The 95 corridor is supposed to get like 8 inches. At least, thats the latest forecast I can find for Arlington.

Then again, its barely snowing here right now and it's still not accumulating on anything but my lawn.

As much as I'd love to get my physics midterm over with tomorrow, I'd probably have more fun sledding and killing six packs all day long.

1. You're already having a mid-term exam? :Q

2. I'd rather play in the snow and drink  all day as well! 😀

That's nothing, I had my first "mid-term" three weeks into class 😕 (going in my 5th)

I live in the real northern tip. We're only expected to get 2-4, which means a dusting to 2 inches.

first thing I did in game was seek out the Farragut West metro, where my work is. Super mutants, bandits... I was glad to see my law firm was still there.

we got about 10 inches of snow here in Arkansas yesterday. I wish the weather would quit changing so much it was in the 70s thursday.

Classes just got canceled for tomorrow 😀

MSU has canceled classes like 2 or 3 times in the past 50 years. (Not that we even have bad weather now)

There is no point in getting my hopes up of canceled classes, ever.

it's coming down something fierce outside... I decided to "cheat" by parking 2 blocks away on the Main St. in my town. I figure it's a lot more likely to be plowed at 7 am than my side street and it'll mean not having to shovel out my drive way (my parking space is the furthest one back from the street and I leave for work first during the winter)

daughter's kindergarten class already cancelled. I moved the car out of the way of where I'll be taking out the snowblower from the garage.

Spring has sprung here in Northern Kahleeforneeya.

The almonds have been in bloom for the past couple of weeks, my neighbors' plum and peach trees are in blossom, my lilacs are setting blossom clusters...ah spring...

This time of year is probably my favorite here in NorCal. In spite of the rainy weather, the whole out of doors is filled with the sweet, delicate aroma of almond blossoms.

I haven't made the drive out to that part of the area yet, but the local apricot fields should be in full bloom, and I imagine that the cherry trees are about to start blooming.

Spring has indeed sprung here in Northern Kahleeforneeya!!
